Anthony David: The Setup

Since I was off from my day job, I was given time to review some more new music!  (I love Snow Days in NC J )   Anthony David has a new EP called “The Setup”.  This EP was just released in November 2010.  It brightened my snow day, but it was not long enough!  I really wanted more!!   Anthony David is one of the smoothest male vocalists in the game right now!    His voice is so soulful. He is heavily slept on!!!  This EP is just a sample of what to expect on his new album, “As Above, So Below”.  It will be released February 2011.   I appreciate him for giving us a little sample of what to expect from his album.  But again, I wanted more!  It is truly "the setup"!!!

This EP is an intimate live acoustic performance, which Anthony David is well-known for!   He started off the EP with “Let Me In”.   In this song, Anthony is trying to convince his lady to let him into her heart.   This is my favorite cut on the EP.    I am also in love with “4evermore”with Algebra Blessett and Phonte of The Foreign Exchange.   He does a great rendition of Drake’s “Find Your Love”.   The last song on the EP is “Cold Turkey” featuring Brandon Thomas.  This song is also on his last album, “Acey Duecy”.  I loved this performance because of his flawless acoustic guitar performance!   This is one of my favorite songs by Anthony because he always puts his heart and soul into it!    

AD’s vocals and lyrics were on point as always! His live acoustic performances never disappoint!  I am definitely ready for the LP! I would recommend this EP if you are an AD fan that loves his live performances.   However, after listening to the EP, ( I must say it again) I wanted more!

New Music Review: Ne-Yo: Libra Scale.....The Gentleman is BACK!!

Looks like there are going to be a lot of "Champagne Nights" for NE-YO in the near future!   "Libra Scale" has to be one of Ne-Yo's best albums thus far.   He is being a true Gentleman on this album!   On this particular album, Ne-Yo is going the extra mile for his fan base with his songwriting skills and creativity! He tells a story with this album.  If you purchase the Deluxe Edition of this album, you will receive 3 music videos that help him to tell his story through the eyes of a Superhero.   This is an album that will make you appreciate him more as a true songwriter!!!  His lyrics are SICK....and I mean that in a good way!  His voice is simply amazing on this album! This is a must buy!!
First of all, I must give him props on the creative risk he took on this album!   Like I stated before, he writes this album in the view of a Superhero.   Not many artists can pull this off without being considered corny!!  Ne-Yo's creativity is not viewed as corny......he is flat out suave!  Fans should appreciate that he was thinking outside of the box when he created this album!
"Libra Scale" starts out with an up-tempo party anthem called "Champagne Life", which has a Michael Jackson favor to it!  When you hear "Champagne Life", "Know Your Name", and "What Have I done", you cannot help but think about MJ!  "Libra Scale" is a Must-Have!  There is not a bad song on this album!   Check out Ne-Yo's Video below!  Loves it!!!
